ATEO Terms of Use

Account Policies

Accounts created during the user registration process must have been created by a person who is 18 years or older at the time of registration.

Telescope Availability

Availability is subject to weather conditions, scheduled and unscheduled system maintenance, and reservations. The ATEO is offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Insight Observatory makes every effort to make the remote robotic telescope system available, however, from time to time we may have to take the telescope system down for servicing.

Progress updates are normally posted on the ATEO telescope portal and on our social media sites.

Insight Observatory cannot guarantee our service will be 100% available and fault-free, due to the technical nature of the remote operation.

Telescope Access

Access to the telescope system is granted via the ATEO Portal at https://ateodev.insightobs.com/.

Quality of Image Data

Insight Observatory will refund you on image data you are unsatisfied with, period. We reserve the right to evaluate these requests and may provide you with advice to ensure that future desired results are to your standard.

Customer Service Response Times

Requests made via our support email are typically responded to between 6 and 12 hours of lodging the support request. Most requests are fully resolved between 12 and 24 hours.

Image Data Download

Image data is typically ready for download from a DropBox location within 1 day of image capture depending on weather conditions and availability of the telescope. No Dropbox account will be required for access.

Image Data Retention

All data is stored on DropBox for 30 days. It is the user’s responsibility to download all image data. We will not provide refunds for image data that has to be deleted after the 30 day period.
